The Power Counsellor.

For powerlifters looking for mental health support.

By lifters, for lifters.

As athletes ourselves, we understand the delicate interplay between our “athlete” selves and “personal” selves. If we’re unable to find the balance between the two, sometimes we begin to feel stuck or unsure of our path when we come up against barriers.

After completing his Masters of Counselling, Michael has sought to bring a deeper understanding of mental health in the powerlifting space. His approach comes from a learned and lived experience through competing and coaching at all levels of powerlifting.

Empowerment and flexibility.

Michael utilises a variety of therapeutic tools to ensure that the athletes he works with are able to find sense and understanding in themselves to enhance their performance;

ACT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Existentialism, Attachment Theory, Compassion Focused Therapy

Michael has also worked with a diverse group of clients in the Exercise Physiology and coaching space including;

Men’s health, Women’s health, LGBTQIA+, Neurodiverse, Disordered Eating

The true key to enhancing a therapeutic relationship is communication and collaboration.
